More habits to avoid and overcome procrastination

While surfing the web at work today I ran across this article on Digg about procrastination titled:6 Habits To Avoiding And Overcoming Procrastination. I'm sure it's a fine article, though I admit I didn't read it. Lots of words and not a LOLCat to be seen on the entire page. However it got me thinking of some other habits one might adopt to help avoid and overcome procrastination. So here they are.

1. Don't go to Digg when you're supposed to be working.

2. If you do go to Digg, don't actually click on any articles. Stick to the pictures, they take up less of your time.

3. If you do click on an article, for god's sake don't blog about it. I mean really, haven't you wasted enough time on it? It's already on Digg, if you have something to say about it, just make a comment. You know no one reads your blog anyway and there really nothing left to say about it that hasn't already been said.

4. Don't Digg your own blog entry on the article that was already on Digg. How self absorbed are you?

5. Don't email all your friends a link to the Digg article, which links back to your blog. They're your friends, they probably already read your blog anyway, and if they don't, then obviously your blog just sucks that bad and you should really consider finding a different way to express yourself. Perhaps you could sign random guest books or just go around commenting on other blogs kept by people who can actually write and have something interesting to say. Like maybe that one you read that started this whole messy chain of events.

6. If you went to Digg, read an article, Blogged about the article, Dugg your own blog and then emailed all your friends about it, Don't then spend the rest of the day checking your tracking page to see who actually came over and read your blog.

Hopefully, following these easy steps will help you overcome procrastination.

If not, post a link to your Digg Article, I'll Digg you up and post a comment on your blog.

This slipped so far into metablogging that I'm still struggling to catch up.

Additionally, I'd like to add a 7th rule.

If one of your friends does 1-6, don't post a comment about it to their blog. It will just cause procrastination for yourself as well.
